Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre Company is an innovative dance theatre company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, creating dynamic thought-provoking performances and participation programmes.
Established in 2015, Hit The Ground Running inspires people with dance and physical theatre performances that challenge and question the perceptions and notions of wellbeing in the modern age. We share real life stories and explore people’s journeys through live theatre dance performances.

Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre Company presents Suitcases which Premiered online in June 2021.
Working in collaboration with Jon Crispin, a Massachusetts based photographer, this performance is inspired by his exhibition, ‘The Willard Suitcases.’
Jon has worked on his exhibition for 10 years and his knowledge of the Willard Institute and the Suitcases has been invaluable to this performance.
Macho, created by Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre Company, takes inspiration from boys and men who experience the complexities of masculinity in a society where being a man means to not allow yourself to be vulnerable.
A physical theatre journey into 21st century masculinity and the stigma surrounding men's vulnerabilities and emotional wellbeing. This performance is dedicated to those men and women who are no longer with us and those who continue their journey towards recovery.
