In a society where ‘man should be brave’ and outward strength dominates the perceived success of their masculinity, it’s no surprise that we fail to address men’s mental health and the stigma surrounding men’s vulnerabilities and emotional wellbeing.

Macho is the first part of our trilogy of works that focusses on the issues and stigmas surrounding mental health, specifically in the North East, which has the highest rate of male suicide cases. Staged with all male casts, Macho is sculpted around real men’s stories.
