HIT THE GROUND RUNNING DANCE THEATRE COMPANY DELIVERS OUTREACH WORKSHOPS TO BOTH MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS AND SEND SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
Our workshops are primarily designed to reflect the company's current focus of educating people about the stigmas attached to mental health and rebuilding confidence and resilience. The workshops can also be adapted to suit the curriculum requirements of each establishment.
A big part of our youth engagement program is delivering children’s theatre workshops and directing productions. Engaging and encouraging young learners of all abilities and ages working in both mainstream and SEND schools to express creativity and individuality through musicality, dance and physical theatre.
Enjoy storytelling through new forms, learn new skills and most importantly promote mental health and well-being.
Successfully working in partnership with St Bartholomew's Church of England Primary School since 2016 on a variety of exciting creative projects alongside both live and digital productions involving all children from key stages 1 & 2.
"The children have taken their new-found enjoyment and skills beyond the classroom and into wider life. Michael's relationships with staff are also excellent, modeling high quality skills for them to take and make their own. We couldn't recommend Hit The Ground Running highly enough."

The purpose of the workshop is to encourage collaboration and open up creative engagement.
In addition the workshops offer a new creative approach, innovative lesson planning and sharing ideas with industry professionals.
Learners are introduced to the subject matter, by a company member who will then use the groups contributions and ideas as a catalyst for discussion. The creative team will empower the learners to devise and share their work with confidence in a safe and positive learning environment that encourages differentiation. A company member will challenge the learners with exciting physical movement and create dynamic choreography. There may also be performance opportunities for the students to celebrate their work alongside Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre Company at venues across the region.
The workshop packages can be tailored exactly to your needs. We would discuss your areas of focus and develop a program around these requirements. The workshops are designed to inspire young students in a creative safe environment and develop movement and co-ordination skills. The concept of working in partnership and as a team, encourages their creative flare and assists in the development of their own individuality.
Working in partnership with St Cuthbert's in North Shields, Artistic Director Michael choreographed and worked with all children from key stage 1 & 2 for their Summer dance performance at the exchange 1856, July 2024.
